How We are Measured

It’s simple, really. Consider that television networks are measured by ratings, political candidates by victory or defeat, and corporations by earnings.

But when it comes to opinion and market researchers, only a few submit themselves to be judged by the public measuring sticks used by the media, the private sector and those in politics and government. InsiderAdvantage/Poll Position is one of those few firms.

In the 2008 presidential election cycle, our surveys were collected and cataloged by the two most influential polling websites in America, RealClearPolitics and FiveThirtyEight.com.

We respect all the polling firms that had the courage to post those gut-wrenching final polling numbers for the tough primaries, caucuses, and US Senate races, as well as for the November presidential general election. But when those firms were publicizing their final polling numbers for swing states in the last days of Barack Obama’s historic campaign, only InsiderAdvantage/Poll Position was tasked by Politico with polling not only swing states, but also key “swing counties.”

It’s one thing to believe your strategic adviser and opinion researcher might be right. It’s entirely another thing to know they’re right because they’ve proven their accuracy against the toughest measurable standards in the industry.
